First of all.. what’s up with that name and titel. TRtwoN? Why not just TRON 2 or TRON II, or even TRON Level 2… Anything is better then using a number in a name or titel. It has been done so often now and to be honest… it just doesn’t work. But that my only remark on the project as I can’t wait to see a well deserved sequel to an underrated Disney masterpiece. Ok, geek boy mode is on, I admit it. I love TRON!

Visitors of the San Diego Comic convention got a real treat when they where invited to watch some TR2N footage. The footage isn’t a trailer or part of the movie. It is a small project to show that making a new movie, with the technology of today, is a good thing.

Wall E in Russia and France

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

It is always interesting to see how some movies get presented in other countries. Trailers, news and poster can vary by country where it is released. The same happened for Wall-E. If you visit io9 website (a great site for the SF fans) you see a great poster used in Russia to advertise the new PIXAR movie. The romantic tone is taking over on this poster.

France is also going on the romantic tour with a special trailer where Wall E is doing his best to show his love for EVE. The trailer is set on the “Love Is In The Air” song and is real fun to watch. Although it looks like EVE has an Evil side,… just have a look at her “eyes”.

4 more Russian Posters can be found at, including the US poster so you can compare and choose what is, in your opinion, the best design.

Last weekend at the WonderCon at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, California, the latest about Disney Pixar’s upcoming feature “RATATOUILLE” was revealed during a presentation by its director Brad Bird. Attendees were treated to some more details about the story and the voice casting as well as to new clips from the movie – and finally also the first trailer, after the teaser has been around for quite a while. While attendees certainly enjoyed this part of the presentation, for those of us not able to attend another segment of the presentation might be even more exciting: the open-question session, during which the audience got Brad Bird to reveale some rather interesting news … about “RATATOUILLE” as well as other projects…

Turn off that Mobile!!

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

There are few things more annyoing than mobile phones ringing during a movie in the theater (or a live performance for that). But it seems to be human to forget to turn these cute little phones off before entering, movie theaters nowadays need to remind their patrons kindly before the actual movie starts with an on-screen anouncement. Several years ago some clever marketing specialist got the idea to provide the theaters with an attention grabbing announcement featuring the stars of an upcoming movie and such promoting the movie. In the meantime especially animated features make use of this concept – just off the head I remember such trailers featuring the stars of “Robots”, “Open Season” as well as Disney’s “Brother Bear”, the latter with the moose talking on the phone. In fact my local movie theater even continues to use some of these older trailers / announcements after the movie has long gone and seen a DVD release. When I went to see “Eragon” a few days ago a new trailer / announcement was used …

The Next Disney/Pixar movie to appear on the big screen will be Ratatouille. has the High Definition trailer online. There are also regular trailers (in case of slow connection) and an Ipod version online.

The story of a rat that likes the good life and good food, putting his life on the line to find the food he wants. The story is set in the romantic city of Paris (I wonder if he will visit Disneyland Resort Paris while he is on his quest).

This early trailer looks like fun. With Cars just premiering we already get a “taste” of their next project. Get it “taste”… oh well, enjoy the trailer
