Sao Feng Action Figure (and other Pirates Too)

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

saofengactionfigure.jpgSao Feng will be my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean character. I know, I haven’t seen the movie yet, but being a big Chow Yun Fat fan (from way back during his Hong Kong movies fame) I can’t help it. So while I try to follow all the stories around his character I was also anxiously awaiting any news for a Sao Feng action figure. It was obvious to me that he would be part of a “Pirates of the Caribbean; At Worlds Ends” Action figure series (together with Jack Sparrow and the rest of the cast). Now, during the Toy Fair in New York (I was lucky enough to have been able to visit this fair in the past) the new Pirates figure where being shown to dealers from around the world.

Pirates’ Dance

Friday, July 7th, 2006

The countdown for the official opening of Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in the US is down to less than 24 hours … for us in Europe unfortunately, depending on the location, the wait is still a few weeks long. But there is something to shorten the wait: the CD-single Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest REMIXES!

As posted earlier DJ Tiësto, who performed a “concert” last year in the Walt Disney Studios Paris to celebrate the opening of Space Mountain Mission 2, and has “outed” himself as a Disney-fan, has created a remix of “He’s a Pirate” from the original score by Klaus Badelt for the first movie of the trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. The CD-single features a “Tiësto Radio Edit” (4:05), a “Tiësto Remix” (7:03) and a “Tiësto Orchestral Remix” (7:03). (more…)

Pirates of the Caribbean Disneyland and Disney World artwork

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

TellNoTalesDisneyland.jpgTell no Tales has put up some artwork of the new Pirates of the Caribbean enhancement for the rides at Disneyland and Disneyworld. You will see the ghostly Davy Jones from the second movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest appear in a waterfall, while Jack Sparrow will show himself in several scenes.

Including in this artwork collection are two drawings of Jack Sparrow in the Treasure scene; one time at the Disneyland version and the second one in the Walt Disney World attraction. The artwork looks very promising and gives us fans yet another reason to visit the parks.

(As if we need another reason :-))

Chow Yun Fat is Sao Feng

Monday, May 29th, 2006

ChowYunFatPirates3.jpgThis one is very exciting, at least it is for me. Chow Yun Fat is my favorite actor so I was very exited when they announced he would be in the Pirates of the Caribbean 3. As I am a big fan of Asian cinema I visit some great sites about those movies, including Kung Fu Cult Cinema. Browsing this web today I found what could be the first picture of Chow Yun Fat in the role of the pirate Sao Feng from the third pirates movie. I am looking forwards for part two, but am overly excited about number 3.
