Even More Tron from the Comic Con

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

The events are taking place and one of the first was the Tron press event where the whole crew of the movie was present to talk about the old and the new movie. Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen director Joe Kosinski, Bruce Boxleitner, Steven Lisberger and Jeff Bridges talked about the original movie, the technology used in today’s Tron, reaction about the sequel, the costumes and lot’s more.

How do you impress the public that’s seen all the Internet has to offer:

Steven Lisberger, director of original Tron: That won’t be a problem. You’ll find out soon the look of Tron is unique, it’s one of the strongest things about it. It’s moved on to the next generation. It’s a founding myth for an entire generation. It’s almost like it’s been held back, but now when it’s come back, you feel the energy we missed in the last 25 years. (UGO)

Tron Hot Toys

Monday, July 19th, 2010

What happens when you combine two things I love? I get very exited! I love Disney’s Tron and can’t wait to see Tron Legacy (I’ll go and see it on day one) and I love action figures. So combine the two and my wallet will suffer. But now the news has been release that Hot Toys will also bring some Tron Legacy figures to the market. These action figures cannot be considered toys anymore as they are high standard and expensive collectibles. Hot toys is known for their amazing detailed figures and have proven more then once that they are the best. They sell for well over $100 a piece and even when they leave the shop will still do well on the secondary market as they are always released in a limited quantity.

At this time the create Action figures from Iron Man, Predator, Terminator and even Michael Jackson to name a few. Tron will be one of their newest license they will tackle. Cant wait to see the result of these figures. Make sure to visit the blog regularly as I will update it once we get to see some previews of these figures.

Disney ‘s San Diego Comic Con Exclusives list

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

It’s almost that time of the year again; The San Diego Comic Con. As usual there is a big list of exclusives that will only be sold at the convention (until they start to pop up on eBay). Here you’ll find a full list of everything exclusive Disney related.

Let’s start with Boom Studios. They are the people who bring you Pixar and Disney comics on a montly basis. Especially for the convention they added some real gems to their collection. They will have 3 blank cover comic books. These books can be used to have artist at the convention drawn something on it. Those books and the art on it makes them one of a kind. There will be a Toy Story #5 Get-A-Sketch, Cars #7 Get-A-Sketch and a The Muppet Show #7 Get-A-Sketch comic book. These three books will have a limited production run of only 500 copies each and will be sold for $20 a piece. This is without the artists drawings on it. Those that would like a drawing will need to queue with one of the artist and might have to pay another premium to get the art on the book.

Tron San Diego Comic Con Exclusives

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

The San Diego Comic Convention is almost there and as usual we will get to see some great new stuff appear.

One thing that gets me very excited is the Tron exclusives. A “regular” Tron Legacy toy line will be released by the toy company Spin Master, but at San Diego there will also be some specials.

There will be a limited edition Die-Cast Sam Lights Cycle. The collectible will be limited to 3000 pieces and will cost $5. Not to bad for an exclusive. The second exclusive will be a Tron Vintage Figure. This will be a static figure and it will be from the original Tron movie.

The best about this figure is the packaging. It will come in an arcade style box, will be limited to only 1500 pieces and will retail for $40

Tron Anticipation

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

For the second week in a row Alice in Wonderland came up on top in the box office. During this second weekend my family and me went to see it. I was looking forwards to see the movie and, as expected, was not going to be disappointed. It was awesome, another gem from Tim Burton. But what really made my day was the trailer we got the see before the movie. Yes, it isn’t new and I’ve seen it already online, but to get to see it on a big screen was amazing. Even with the great feature movie still to come I couldn’t help myself dreaming away and thinking about what I had just witnessed watching the Tron Legacy trailer. Never ever has the anticipation been bigger to see a movie with this one.

Tron Legacy Trailer

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

The Tron Legacy trailer is available online and it looks great! You can watch a HD version via this link or you can visit the official Disney Tron site. While it did give me chills down my spine (I love Tron), I do have some doubts about the story set up. How is it possible the arcade was there filled with the games after all these years, how come electricity is still working and what about that hidden room? How come nobody noticed the room before and how is all the equipment still there… and working. Still, to give it the benefit of the doubt, and the fact that I am a big Tron fan, I’m sure there will be a good explanation and enough good stuff to make this movie ROCK!

Tron Legacy will be release on December 17 2010 in 3D.

Tron: Legacy Animation Series

Friday, March 5th, 2010

The first movie from 1982 wasn’t the success Disney had hoped for but over the years it did became the cult classic it deserves to be and Disney saw potential in a sequel. The second movie isn’t out yet, but is already generating a followers of fans who can’t wait to see it.

This time Disney isn’t going to wait another 28 years before they’ll add another Tron to their list of many projects. It looks like we might get a Tron; Legacy animation series for Fall 2011. If green lighted the new series should find it’s way to the target public of 9 to 14 year olds on Disney DX.

Enter the Grid

Monday, December 14th, 2009

TronGameTron: Evolution is the new Tron game  in the making from Disney and will act as a prequel to the upcoming 3D movie Tron: Legacy. The game was revealed during the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend. It’s developed by Propaganda Games and will be released in the 2010. The game will be available on PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360.

GameTrailers has a fantastic preview trailer online where you can see 2 Tron Characters battling with the discs and a short light cycle sweetener. I predict my PS3 to run hot on this game for months! While I can easily put my controller to the side on any game I am not so sure if I will be able to do the same once I get my hands on this game.

I’ve always been a fan of the old Tron arcade game and left lots of change in the machine! I hope this new game will do the old one justice. Of course I am not talking about the graphic as they already look incredible on the preview.
