Planning the Next Disney Trip

You can never start planning a Walt Disney World trip early enough. Not because it’s that difficult, but it’s just so much fun planning and thinking about the next trip.

With a planned trip in August 2011 we still have about 14 months to go, but as a Disney Vacation Club member the 11 month window for booking will be there soon enough.

So the first thing to plan, after dates have been picked, is the location. With our main Disney Vacation Club points being for Disney’s Old Key West it’s no surprise we will be there for the majority of our time. We can squeeze 9 days into it. That leaves me with some points from my Animal Kingdom Villas points. Although we did love the Animal Kingdom Villas, we might be using the points elsewhere.

After our first visit to Vero Beach we pretty much fell in love with the place. So this time around we would stay 5 nights in a Ocean view room. Never thoughts we would go back as it was planned to be a one off, but we all want to go back on our next trip over. This leaves me with enough points from my Animal Kingdom Villas contract for an extra two days. We could stay at the Animal Kingdom Villas for two nights and enjoy the Savannah view, but it could also be a 2 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. Love the pool there and it’s nice to hop over to the Magic Kingdom by boat. Or we could go for the easy option and add 2 nights at Old Key West.

That would be a nice 16 nights stay at Disney Vacation Club locations and that would be a 3 times “welcome home” (I love that).

Add another 2 nights at one of the Universal Studios hotel and we already have a nice looking plan in front of us. Can’t wait to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and although I really don’t care for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it will still be nice to ride the new and “old” attractions there.

That would give us a total of 18 night so far in this first stage of planning. There could be another 3 extra days in there somewhere for a total of 21 nights. But it could also be we would fly in via Washington DC and stay there for a couple of days.

To be continued… for sure!

“a 3 times “welcome home” (I love that).” <—what does that mean, the "welcome home" part….I'm interested in the DVC and curious…

When you stay at a Disney Vacation Club the Cast Members will say “Welcome Home” to you when you check in as you are a DVC owner who is returning “home”
