Happy Birthday Mickey

MickeyMouseBirthdayToday, November 18, we celebrate the birthday of our beloved Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney Company decided to put Mickey’s birthday on the 18th November, the release date of Steamboat Willie (1928). Steamboat Willie wasn’t Mickey’s first movie, it was Plane Crazy, a movie release in the same year as Steamboat, but a little earlier, on May 15. Steamboat was Mickey’s first movie with sound.

Mickey still looks good for his age and can still be put up a great show. At the moment he is the main character in the Disney Channel’s Playhouse Disney Series “Mickey Mouse Playhouse”but I think most fans just love to see him appear inside the Disney parks.

Happy Birthday Mickey and many, many more years to come.

If you have a minute, check out my new novel about two families on a Disney vacation. It’s a hilarious spoof, mostly about some of the crazy behavior we all see every time we go to Disney World, Disney land or any theme park, really.

It’s available on Amazon. The Kindle e-book version is here:

    http://www.amazon.com/Snodgrass-Vacation-ebook/dp/B002U0KXR8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258680005&sr=8-1

While the hard copy version is here:

Anybody who’s visited Disney will recognize most of the landscape and especially the people in the parks that do those things they do. I dare you to try to read it without laughing out loud.

    Thanks!
