Disneyland Resort Paris B’Day trip – Day 2

terror-from-toon-sWe didn’t want to rush as we had not only a full day of Disney ahead, but also a 4 hour trip back home in front of us. We had to leave the rooms by 10am, so we turned up at the parks around 10:20 on this Monday morning. I promised my son Tower of Terror would be first on the list. FastPass was closed, and it wasfor all attractions on that day in the Studios, so we went straight into the normal queue and waited for about 30 minutes before we entered the elevator. After that we also enjoyed a ride on Rock’n’Roller coaster and visited Toon Studios for Cars. The queue at Crush was way to long for our liking and I always say if we don’t go on the ride this time we have a reason to come back (as if I need any other reason).

Once we done these rides we went for a drink and cookie in the shareholders club before entering the Disneyland Park.

We only got ourself some FastPass for Big Thunder Mountain and enjoyed the rest of the park without the need for any other FastPass. Most of the rides had short or no queues, except for Casey Jr. – le Petit Train du Cirque which was only running one train.

We had lunch at Restaurant Agrabah Café, one of those buffets I spoke about in the first part, and unfortunately turned into a little disaster for both my wife and son as not much of the food seemed either to be to their liking or could pleasure their taste buds. I had to admit, even if their was enough of the food that I could eat or like, that the quality wasn’t that great. Some overcooked or bland choices didn’t make this the best experience, making it also to expensive for what it is. Without any ice cream as desert my son totally disapproved of this place. No worries though, this wasn’t going to spoil our trip, and there where enough ice creams around the park to make up for the loss inside the restaurant.

In the afternoon I met up with Simon and Susan Veness. Our blog readers will know their names from here on Mousekingdom blog, but many of the Disney fans or visitors will also know their names from their books “A Brit Guide to…” series. In the series you’ll find Disneyland Resort Paris, Walt Disney World and Orlando. But these are only a couple of project they are working on as their list is a lot bigger. I met them and we talked about Disney and the new Brit Guide to Disneyland Resort Paris”. I was their Principal research assistant for their Paris version and am very happy to be asked again by them to help on their new updated version for 2010.

thecastle-again-sAfter we met I took my son for 2 more rides on Indiana Jones. There was no queue at all and we could pick our seats. First ride from the front, second one from the back seat. The front seat gives you the best view, but the back one is more intense.

We left the park just before 7pm. First we wanted to go to Annette’s for a burger but then opted to go to the Steakhouse. When we entered we where said that the whole of the village had problems with banking and only cash could be used. With little cash and only cards we had to pass on the Steakhouse. As all restaurants and shops had to fight with this problem we could not get cash out so the only option for the cash we had in our pockets was a burger at McDonald. Not a place where I want to end my trip, but better then those awful road restaurants…

I guess with the restaurants not being able to use bank cards they might have lost some business that night.

What a fantastic trip, I didn’t want it to end. I loved it so much and for some reason it felt like the best trip at Disneyland Resort Paris since going there. I really have no idea why it is, but I’ll just say it’s because I shared the moments with my family (although we have shared many visits in the past). We are back home now, already looking forwards to our big Walt Disney World trip, but I can’t help myself looking at dates for another quick DLRP hop over too…
