More Incredibles

If there is one movie that should get a sequel it’s The Incredibles from PIXAR. We are getting Cars II and more Toy Story and although they are great movies it’s the Incredibles that I want to see more of. Not only is it a great PIXAR movie, it is also among one of the best Superhero movies. If I would make my top three it would be in there together with Ang Lee’s Hulk (Awesome movie with the correct comic feel but misunderstood by many) and the latest Batman “The Dark Knight” movie (and we all know that’s because of Heath Ledger playing an amazing Joker). Of course that’s only my opinion, you might think differently. Except for an Incredibles sequels, I am sure we all thing alike there and would love to see a second movie.

However, until we get a second movie (if ever) we will have to enjoy the 2004 movie and all the material related to the movie. Luckily we sometimes get to see some nice artwork related to the first movie. Some of the artwork was never shown before and makes it a nice treat. Lou Romano, an artist who worked on the movie, is sharing some awesome early development and production designs he created between 200 and 2004. My favorite part; the early villains concepts. While I would place Iron Man at #1 of such a list I agree with your assessment of Hulk which I much prefer to this summer’s remake. As for the Incredibles it is probably my least favourite Pixar film but one I have been meaning to rewatch for a while, maybe your blog entry is the motivation I needed. BTW, I found your blog as a follwer of yours on Twitted!

    Hi Steve,

Welcome to the blog and please spread the word we are here. Now go and have another look at the Incredibles :-) who knows, you might love it the second time around. About Iron Man; I do think they did a good job on this one, I enjoyed it a lot. But it isn’t near Ang Lee’s Hulk. Then again, that’s my personal taste and opinion. I can well imagine there are a lot of people that might put Iron Man on 1 or even Spider-man (as long as it isn’t the third one, they made a bad venom in my opinion), even X-men wasn’t bad at all (but reading comic for more then 20 years, knowing what the X-Men are about, it didn’t do it 100% justice). Now I’ll wait for Wolverine and hope they do him justice…

While I have been watching comic book films for as long as they have been made I’m only a few years into reading the actual comic books and in the world of Marvel Iron Man was my favourite so an Iron Man film was great for me. I think Downey Jnr was an awesome Tony Stark - its like he walked out of the comic and straight onto screen!

I can’t wait for the Iron Man sequels and the Avengers films.

Above all that I am looking forward to next May when I can take my son Lucas to Disneyland Resort Paris for his 1st birthday :D

I thought I was the only one who like Ang Lee’s Hulk! I completely agree that it was misunderstood and most just wanted lots of “Hulk Smash!”. I like to understand why characters are they way they are. Anyway, it’s getting harder and harder to pick a top super hero movie. There really need to be almost two categories. Dark Knight was an amazing realistic, crime movie take on a super hero. While X3 and even Spider-Man 3 was a big screen adaptation of a comic book come to life. But my top 3 are X2, Iron Man, and Dark Knight. Great discussion!
