Finally; Stan Lee’s New Disney Character!

It has well been over a year ago when I told everybody here how excited I was that Stan Lee would be working together with Disney. Now it finally looks like they have a new adventure ready to bring to the comics fans out there…

…to introduce a revolutionary new concept in original superheroes and the comic book format: “Time Jumper”, which will become the industry’s most ambitious digital comic book series ever designed to release on multiple platforms. (TH Online)

The project will be some sort of downloadable comic where you’ll get to read a comic that uses the newest technology to add an edge that cannot be added into the “regular” paper comics…

The new digital comic book format combines the traditional print look and feel, including dialogue and thought bubbles, with today’s cutting edge multimedia elements, including edgy visuals, music, voices and a fast-paced storyboard, to take a classic genre into the next dimension. (TH Online)

Personally, even if I love my PC haven I created at home, I love my comics in my hand and am not sure if this will be the next big thing. While video and computer games gets players involved in the adventure, this concept will just be a comic projected on a screen. The other thing that worries me is the story…

Terry Dixon, the greatest agent of the secret government organization known as HUNT (Heroes United, Noble and True), has a cell phone like no other. Invented by Terry’s father, it’s called The Articulus and it has all the latest and greatest cell phone features–plus one: It’s also a time machine!

Another time travel story? Aren’t there enough of those out there? I wonder if this will work. Never the less I will give it the benefit of the doubt as we are talking about two of my favorite things here; Disney and Comics. Who knows, I might be pleasantly surprised. Now, let’s hope we don’t have to wait yet another year before the project goes live.

Make sure to read the full article on TH Online for more on the story arc.
