Brands in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian?

Some of you might remember that I pointed out a fun feature on the website brandchannel.com a couple of weeks ago: BrandCameo which keeps track of the brands popping up in the number one movies according to the US box office numbers. “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” having won the crown last week (before ceeding it to Indy 4 this weekend) I wondered, whether there would be any brands to report and checked out the site today. And very much to my surprise there was a brand cameo in the movie - even so it plays most of the time in the fantasy world of Narnia!!

The brand cameo is part of the short segment playing in London in the 1940s before the Pevensie children return to Narnia, when Susan browses through papers and magazines on a news stand. Disney did stay true to the historical context and displays material that was published back then, e.g. the “Picture Post” magazine that ceased publication in the 1950s according to brandchannel. But there is also ONE brand that is still available: the DAILY EXPRESS. A fun side note.
