A Home Near Walt Disney World
For a Disney geek like me it would be a dream to live near Walt Disney World (something that might still happen somewhere in the future, just not right now for multiple reasons). For sure I am not the only one who would love to own a house near the magic so home are getting build around the park. Celebration is the most known Disney-like community, but a new one will be added to this exclusive family as Disney will free some of their land for development. It will not be for all of us because the price will be high for the planned luxury houses.
Walt Disney World is negotiating with Orange County on plans to build homes on what was Disney’s Eagle Pines Golf Course. Three-story mansions and hundreds of other homes — most valued at millions of dollars apiece — would be built along the banks of Walt Disney World canals and sold to private individuals in a project under review by Orange County. Disney World has spun off land for residential development before — notably the communities of Celebration and Little Lake Bryan — but the Northeast Resort would be far more luxurious. (Orlando Sentinel)

I’d be keen to see how they are going to market these homes as they are going to have to be something pretty special to surpass a lot of homes already on a glut of property in central Florida right now. It is not a good time to be building new property and, despite the Disney name, multi-millionaires may not necessarily be keen to have a home ‘in the magic’ when they can be up the road rubbing shoulders with Tiger Woods in REALLY select territory!
