Save Small World

2rhmvea.gifMost of you might already have heard the news about the changes in the Disneyland attraction “it’s a small world”.

New Disney characters, including Alice in Wonderland, can be expected in an upgraded version of the classic ride. Together with the new figures one of the scenes will be changes too. If reports are indeed correct the Papua New Guinea rainforest show scene will be replaced with a tribute to America.

Not everybody is happy with this decision so it didn’t take long before people would react.

“it’s a small world” was never designed to be a place for popular Disney characters. These changes risk damaging the attraction’s core message of world peace by trivializing the show’s stars and message bearers - the Children of the World  (Save The Small World)

Furthermore, “it’s a small world” was designed for its American audiences to take a step back and take stock in the world around them. Removing the Papua New Guinea show scene in favor of a tribute to America would detract from this goal. (Save The Small World)

Bad idea, pure and simple. This is one ride that has NO reason to have Disney characters in and to add them makes no sense whatsoever, as well as being a mark of disrespect to the original designer. Disney management needs to come to its senses urgently if this is already a firm decision.
