Once a fan – now one of the men behind the magic…

I’d like to come back to Andrea’s post about last year’s Halloween Parade at Tokyo Disney from a few days ago … cause there is a really interesting backstory to one of the guys behind “Disney’s Halloween Happy Haunted Parade” as the 2007 daytime parade was officially called.

While the catchy song “One More Ghost” (I wonder when Vasile Sirli will re-purpose it for Disneyland Resort Paris) plays during the stop of the parade, the loop playing while the parade moves includes another all-new song specifically written for Tokyo Disneyland: “Our Halloween Party”. The latter song was composed by Rick McKee!

You ask: what’s so special about that?

Well, just a year ago Rick McKee was “only” another one of us crazy fans of Disney and in particular of Disney music, albeit already studying composing … now he is a published composer whose work can be heard at Tokyo Disneyland! If you want to give him the thumbs-up on his first official work for a Disney themepark: he is still active on the MagicMusic board and still enjoys sharing his love for the magic of the Disney music with fellow fans. Obviously his work for last year’s Halloween parade at TDL was a big topic on the boards

Final note: if you fall in love with either of these songs, certainly both are included on the CD release “Tokyo Disneyland Disney’s Halloween 2007″ available from various online stores (I personally handle most of my TDL online-CD-shopping via hmv.co.jp since they are reliable, ship fast, have reasonable pricing and provide a website in English). The CD also includes the nighttime Halloween parade “Haunted Rockin’ Street” featuring amongst others a new, rockin’ version of the song “Happy Happy Halloween” which has been introduced to Halloween at Disneyland Paris (in its original, pop version) in the past years.
