Can I have Your Credit Card Number Please?

disneyvisa.gifCan I have Your Credit Card Number Please? How often do you get asked that? And how often do we give it without thinking about the risks attached to it? Especially when you’re at Walt Disney World, do you expect to be conned by a scam artist. (they really should find another name for them as they are NO artist.)

Unfortunately since a couple of weeks people are being scammed while they are at WDW.

Sheriff’s deputies said they believe a con man is hanging out in a hotel lobby on Disney property, listening in on conversations and then making a phone call to the victim’s room to scam them. (Local 6)

Once the right information is in the wrong hands those targeted can expect a phone call with an offer nobody can refuse, especially when you’re in this save Disney environment. But once they have you’re credit card number to pay for that offer, they’ll take that information to get your money. So if you get a phone call in your Disney room, don’t give your credit card number

Disney officials said cards have been placed next to the phones in rooms to remind guests to protect their credit card information and that cast members will never call them asking for their credit card numbers. (Local 6)
