Shareholders Meeting Trip part 1: New York Hotel and Manhattan Restaurant
On February 21st Euro Disney S.C.A. Held its annual shareholders meeting. Just like the last couple of years I went to Disneyland Resort Paris with big interest and hope to hear beautiful news of plans for the future. But before I’ll get into dept on what has been said at the meeting, let me first take you to the previous day, the day I arrived and checked in at the New York hotel.
With the special 25% discount shareholders get for the nights around the meeting I took the privilege to book a two nighters into the New York Hotel. Once I was checked in, checked my room (with an awesome view), I headed over to the Manhattan restaurant. The restaurant has turned into an Italian style (regarding the food, not the interior) place and I was eager to try it. Unfortunately it didn’t hold up to its previous standard. The Manhattan used to be my favorite restaurant, but after this experience it dropped down very far in my ratings. The food was not bad, it just wasn’t the food you used to get there. The anti pasta starter platter was mediocre and for the Osso Bucco they used way to much lemon in their sauce. At the end of the meal I had to have the chocolate cake dish, which I didn’t enjoy to much. Not that is was bad, but I wanted something else. When I eat at a higher rated restaurant I am used to get pampered. So when I ask a simple thing like some fruits I see it as a negative thing when they cannot deliver. Talking about fruit, the cherries that come with the chocolate cake are terrible.
After the meal I was asked to fill out a questionnaire about the restaurant. It will be to nobodies surprise it didn’t get high ratings. However, I must admit that the Cast Members serving did get top marks; they took care of me, made sure everything was delivered en served nicely. (not their fault there is no fruit). But at the end I did write that I preferred the “old” Manhattan. You will be missed. At least you will be by me as most people did seem to enjoy the new Italian style food that was served.
