Running a Marathon (not only for the Young)
What do you do when you’re 69? You go to Walt Disney World and you run in a marathon!
The yearly Marathon at Walt Disney World is a success that brings in many people to run in what might well be the most enchanted marathon in the world.
Running through the parks and it surroundings, you would almost forget the sweat and pain. For Harry Miller it is just a normal thing to do, and he does it at the age of 69.
Four summers ago, a day after Miller’s 5 ½-hour surgery to repair a collapsed lung from a rare bacterial infection, Miller grabbed his intravenous pump, jumped out of bed and began doing laps around his floor at Mercy Hospital. (Miami Herald)
And that was only the beginning as he now goes and runs full marathons, including the Walt Disney World Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge…
You can read the rest of his inspirational story here. And for those running the Marathon on Sunday (or the half marathon on Saturday); good luck, enjoy, have fun and enjoy the wonderful and magical views.
