The Three Musketeers
I have always appreciated the first (and only) feature length movie featuring our favorite trio of cartoon characters;
Mickey, Donald and Goofy star in a little gem called “the three Musketters”.
This movie, which was only released on the home video market and never at cinemas, took the classic Alexandre Dumas novel about the politics and fights at the French court and twisted them in a pure “disney way” by injecting humor, romance, magic and a little bit of “goofy” (which never hurts
) in it.
I remember sitting down at the Miracosta Belvedere lounge, looking over Mediteranean harbour at Tokyo Disney Seas with my good friend Dirk this summer and , as we often do, just (after the usual question: “are those the wings of the dragon being recharged at midnight
?)” “imagineering what we want for DLRP”.
This is a mental exercise which most of us fans do; as much as we blue sky rides which make even Mission Space or Everest seem like of the shelf carnival rides sometimes some little tiny things ; “plussings” you might call them, also come in the conversation.
One of them was using the characters of Mickey, Donald and Goofy in the full Three Musketter costumes, for a small show at the fantasyland festival stage, or as a roadshow in Fantasyland.
Well it seems that during the 5th anniversary of Disney Seas someone had a very similar idea!

Yes it is a small show, without even any character voices being recorded etc, but i would have prefered this instead of the Toon train we got for the Studios this summer…

That film was great. The animation was lovely and the Watercolor backgrounds blew me away.
I would love to see Mickey and the gang in costumes like this.
Or how about a campaign which themes like the Italian ‘Wizards of Mickey’ comics. They could tie in shows, fireworks, and interactive ‘quests’ for the guests.
