Not so long ago Pixar revealed the next movies that they have planned. Now a new rumor has appeared giving us the name of the possible 2011 project: Cars II.

While I think Cars was a nice movie, I surely enjoyed it, I didn’t really wanted to see a second part. First of all I am all for new project, but secondly (if a follow up is needed) an Incredibles movie would have been so much nicer. I love the Incredibles characters a lot more then the Cars once.

From a business point of view, I do understand the choice; “Cars” merchandise was awesome and highly sellable. Not everybody goes and gets action figures (although there are many collectors, the Incredibles where not the figures collectors where looking for) but what boy doesn’t like a toy box full of cars.

Of course the movie was loved by many fans so a second part will get there too. With the marketing Disney sets out there, the cars characters and if they do get a great story (and I am sure they will) we will get a great box office result. I just wonder who of the original cast will pass the casting call for the second movie!
