Teenager Dies at Disneyland Resort Paris

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

In an unfortunate event a 14 year old Spanish girl died yesterday while riding Rock’n’Roller coaster in the Walt Disney Studios in Disneyland Resort Paris. When the ride vehicle returned to the station the girl was found unconscious by her friends. A medical team tried to revive her but by the time an ambulance arrived at the scene the girl was death. The cause of this regrettable death is unknown at this moment. There is no prove of mechanical failure of the rollercoaster but the rollercoaster will remain closed until the investigation has been concluded. An autopsy is planned for today.

Our thoughts are with the family.

Explore the Sub Attraction

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

explorethesubattractionweb1.jpgDisney has a new site live for the new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Attraction in Disneyland. There are some real fun things on there like a construction timelapse video, info on the Nemo Dream Mobile that is going around the US, a big section on how the ride was made and a history part including some footage of the old subs.

The web is real fun and gives some nice background information. I love it when Disney shares this kind of stuff with their fans. I understand that they like to keep most of the info a little bit of a secret (to not spoil the experience), but sharing just enough builds up the anticipation for future visitors.

Criminal Rat

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

remy-in-paris.jpgNot being a big fan of the whole torrent environment, I am even less a fan of the illegal copies you can find on there. Ratatouille already founds it way on the system; however they have a bad copy taped with a camera from some movie screen (seem to, as I did not download it to see it for myself). I really don’t understand why people would want to do this or even share this. Watching these bad (and illegal) copies don’t do the movie any justice and will never give you the experience as you would have in the cinema.

Making these copies (or copies from DVD, etc) is theft; Period. Please don’t support this kind of behavior and save for a cinema ticket or for the original Disney DVD’s. The experience is so much better, and you’re not doing illegal stuff.

The Secret of the Magic Gourd

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

secretgourddisneychina.jpgDisney has shown a preview of their movie “The Secret of the Magic Gourd” in China. The movie is made for the Asian market, using an Asian book…

The plot of the live-action, Mandarin-language update of the 1958 children’s book classic by Zhang Tianyi reflects some of modern China’s biggest aspirations. (Hollywood Reporter International)

But Disney fans need no worry as an English version is very likely to happen…

After the mainland, Disney plans to take “Gourd” to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. Might it be dubbed in English? “The film will travel, but we have to get the China part right first” (Hollywood Reporter International)

Parents Leave Child waiting in Hot Florida Sun

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

hotsun.jpgAs a parent, reading things like this makes me very angry. Your first priority as a parent is your child. If that means you can’t ride an attractions; then there is always another time. What you can’t or shouldn’t do just to be able to visit the attraction is leave your child behind, waiting outside. Unfortunately some parents seam to have other ideas on this and have no problem leaving their child in a stroller in the sun while visiting the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

A mother and father are facing child neglect charges after deputies say they left their young child in the hot sun at Disney World. (Central Florida News)

Unfortunately things like this are not “one offs”. I’ve seen a couple running to Big Thunder Mountain once, both running into the queue line, leaving their kid outside the gates. The Cast Member, standing there, jaw’s dropped right open (as did mine). They didn’t return or say anything to the kid; they just ran on to ride the coaster…
