Dead man tell no (French) Tales
So it now seams that Captain Jack and his crew have set there sights on yet another pirate cove; and this time, instead of being “at worlds end” it is in Tokyo Bay!
The Oriental land company had in fact released a press release stating that
“Jack Sparrow Comes to Tokyo Disneyland Pirate of Caribbean Attraction on July 20, 2007. Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced on March 23, 2007 that the characters from the Disney movie “Pirates of Caribbean” would appear at the renewed attraction “Pirates of Caribbean” of Tokyo Disneyland on July 20. Due to renewal, the attraction will be closed May 7 through July 19. In renewal, in addition to Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones from the 2nd movie “Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and Captain Barbossa who revived surprisingly at the end of the movie, will also appear in the attraction.“
so there you have it; the Tokyo version of Pirates of the Caribbean, a near 1 to 1 copy of the Disneyland original (with the addition of a few scenes mixed up from Orlando but complete with the surrounding area of Veranda and similar to new Orleans Square design) will feature the rave reviewed refurbishment complete with the captain jack audio animatronic (an amazing AA by the way) , the Barbossa figure on the wicked wench and Davy Jones waterfall and mist effect.
No word on the , once mentioned by Disney studios chairman Dick Cook, AA figures for Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom.
Knowing already that it is mostly a question of time for Hong Kong to get its very own pirates mini land , complete with ride and entertainment the question now is: “will Disneyland Paris join the crew and install the same refurbishment and enhancements in the near future or will it stick to it’s 1992 original?”.
For sure the layout and story driven Paris version is a more difficult fit for the enhancements seen in Anaheim, Orlando, and now Tokyo, but the plane fact that even Tokyo is now on board does corner Paris.
Only time will tell..or as they say: “dead man tell no tales”
