Disneyland Resort Paris New Years Trip: Highlights Day 1

dlrpnytrip07-earlymorningcastle1.jpgThis will be the first entry of our (My 7 year old son Jarod, my Wife Gilly and myself) New Years Trip Report to Disneyland Resort Paris. Just like my previous (and hopefully many future) reports I will keep them short and fun. Highlights of what happened, what we’ve done and what we’ve experienced on this trip. So, let’s get on with it!

It was 1 day before New Years Eve and we entered the park very, very early, somewhere around 08:15 when we entered with our Dream passes, a good 45 minutes before regular opening time. Straight to Fantasyland where we had to wait a little while before we could ride Dumbo and Peter Pan without any queue lines. I can’t say it enough; Staying 3 days or longer, then the annual Dream pass is a must have.

dlrpnytrip07-earlymorningalone1.jpgWe also got to ride Phantom Manor very early, again without the big queues, but this would be the last time we would see short queues on this trip as the park was packed on all 5 days we where there.

We got to meet up with Dirk (also from the blog and DLP.info) and after browsing the park a little went for a small lunch at King Ludwigs Castle in the Disney village. Although not to bad I must have picked the wrong main course as it didn’t appeal to me once I was eating it. I guess being adventurous doesn’t always pay of.

More park fun later included a go at the new Buzz Lightyear’s AstroBlaster ride. Didn’t even manage to get a score over 138000 points and vowed to come back and do better on this trip.

dlrpnytrip07-pm1.jpgDisney’s Fantillusion was to closure of the day, where I met up with Andrea (also from the blog and from the Fantasmic Files) and some friends who visited Disneyland Resort Paris for the first time. But unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side. Rainy weather equals no stops in the Fantillusion parade. This means no transformations of the float…

After the rainy parade I walked back to the Disney’s Cheyenne hotel for a good nights rest so I could enjoy the next day of magic…
