Walt Disney World… Booked

casltebehindtrees1.jpgIt is done! With a free continental flight and my Disney Vacation Club points I now booked my trip for next years Halloween Walt Disney World visit.

Countdown can start, even if it is over 10 months to go. I’ll be at Walt Disney World as from 21st October (Late arrival) up to 1st November…

I will stay in the Old Key West resort for 7 nights. After that I will switch to another hotel. That one hasn’t been booked yet. Although I would love to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, I think I will not do that this time around and might go for one of the less expensive Disney hotels. Animal Kingdom Lodge will have to wait for another year.

Planning can start (and has already started in my head) for this visit. Although I will not make a full plan (I like going with the flow, deciding what to do on the spot, on the moment) there are some things that will be planned. Of course there will be Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween party on the 31st, a booking for a dinner in Teppanyaki Dining Room, a lot (and I am planning a lot of it) of Illumination viewing (I wonder if I’ll get to see my beloved version or the new 25 anniversary rumored one), at least one visit to Typhoon Lagoon and as I love Animal Kingdom Lodge I will also visit this resort (again) and have dinner at Boma.

These are on top of my list. Of course there will be other things I plan to do. One thing I will try this time around is go to the Magic Kingdom first. I always say to everybody that if you go to Disney World you have to start in the Magic Kingdom. But I always end up entering Epcot first myself.

Still 10 months to go, but already very excited about it. Another fun thing is that I will book our next family trip for august 2008 just before going to enjoy this one. It will be nice to know when I am going back home the next trip will be booked already…

Hi Andy, I just returned from my visit to WDW. I stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Royal Pacific Resort. In AKL I booked a Savannah Room and it was great (although not many animals to watch).

For the second time in my life I had dinner at Jiko…. I highly recommend it if you can to enjoy a wonderful dinner over Boma. The setting is stunning and the food and wine just almost perfect. A bit expensive, yes, but it worths every penny you’ll penny (specially if you appreciate good food and wine). Also everybody there is so nice and fun that you’ll feel like a king.

Another recomendation… Tchoup Chop…. I stayed in the Royal Pacific for the solely reason to pay a visit to my favourite restaurant worldwide (apart from “Jade on 36″ in Shanghai). This place is just incredible, and the food is pure art.

    So, congratulations for your booking….

    Rafa!

PS. Would you mind if I would write you a private email about Disney Vacation Club….. I would like to have some first hand opinion about it…

Damn… been wanting to take a long trip like that for some time. Even thought about a month long trip and transferring to different hotels every week with one being a suite but money and time off work is always the issue.

I’ll be there for Halloween again in 2007 and I doubt that will be a Halloween that I WON’T be in Walt Disney World! I’ve also done the Halloween Party on Halloween night but don’t plan on doing it again. I’d rather be home for a Halloween carnival in my sister’s front yard for all the kids in the neighborhood.

Thanks for the blog, love visiting as much as I can!
