New Disney Vacation Club Location: Animal Kingdom Lodge

AnimalKingdomLodgeDisneyWorld.jpg

Disney has unveiled their plans to add new timeshare at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Walt Disney World. I am very new to Disney’s timeshare, just bought my first points, but with new timeshare at my favorite resort I might be getting some extra points there (once they start selling). However I don’t think this will be very easy as this resort is loved by many and it might be sold out in no time. You can find some extra information on the Orlando Sentinel site

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas will be the company’s eighth time-share property — the sixth at Walt Disney World — and was hailed Wednesday as a smart business decision.

Development of the Animal Kingdom Villas is scheduled in phases, with units to begin opening in fall 2007. The project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2009.

The first phase will include 134 remodeled accommodations on the fifth and sixth floors of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and additional phases will include the building of 324 vacation properties in a new building at the resort.

BloomPirates.jpgWith Pirates of the Caribbean II still fresh in everybody’s mind and the third one not out before next year there are already rumors floating around about the 4th movie.

No deals are being made yet (Although I think we can be pretty sure of part 4 and more) but the latest rumor was that one of the characters would not survive to play in the second rumored trilogy.

Will Turner, the character played by Orlando Bloom, would not return.

Only good words for Robert Iger

Monday, October 9th, 2006

IgerDisneyComp.jpgIn a article “Quietly Keeping the Spotlight on DisneyRobert Iger is praised from every angle. It seems that Iger is doing a great job in his position as the CEO of the Disney Company we all love, and many people seem to think so according to the article. It talks about his personality….

“Bob is very modest about his abilities and instincts — which in fact are very, very good,” said DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg, one of many Disney leaders who departed after disagreements with Eisner. “He is way less engaged in the trappings and public persona than he is in really providing leadership.”

“Bob is a nice guy,” said Comcast Corp. Chief Operating Officer Stephen Burke, who was president of ABC Broadcasting under Iger. “There’s an old business bromide that if you’re interviewing a guy for a job and he treats the waitress poorly, you shouldn’t hire him. Bob would never treat a waitress poorly.”

MK-YMDwinnersvideo.jpgThere is a B-Roll video from the Family that won the “Keys to the Kingdom” online. They’ll show how the entered the Magic Kingdom, how Mickey and Minnie together with a LOT of Cast Members come out and greet them while they are walking on the red carpet in Main Street and some rides they visit. It looks like they had great fun!

Keys to the Magic Kingdom

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

YearDreams1.jpgHow would you feel if you would win the Keys to the Magic Kingdom and would be welcomed in the park by Mickey and all his helpers to enjoy 90 minutes of quality “alone” time in the park with your family? Pretty amazing I would say and so did the family who won this amazing first big “Year of a Million Dreams” prize

No one has ever had the park to themselves before. But even more than having 90 minutes to ride their favorite rides all by themselves, the Spanglers really loved the surprise fanfare and greeting they got when all the Disney characters and employees spilled out of nowhere to greet them on the red carpet on Main Street U.S.A. DVC-Disney-OKW1.jpgYes, yes, yes… I got a call from the Timeshare Store with the information that Disney is waiving their right to buy the Disney Vacation Club contract back I mentioned in my previous DVC blog entry.

That is it. I made it thru their Right of First Refusal and am now a proud owner of Disney Vacation Club points. 40 points at Old Key West are mine and with 40 banked point and 40 points coming in August 2007 I can start planning my first trip “home”

Ideal time for an Epcot visit

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Twinings Tea manEpcot is one of our favourite parks at any time of the year, but that is especially the case for the next month or so (until November 12). That is because of their annual Food & Wine Festival, which becomes an integral part of the scene in the World Showcase area of the park.

Ghosts, Slippers, Dwarfs, Teacups, Incredibles, Tinkerbell and Mickey Mouse

TicketGhosts.jpgTogether with a new Celebration, “The Year of a Million Dreams” new Walt Disney World Park entry tickets have been created. While it is always nice to find some of Disney’s characters on them, making the tickets collectables even after they are used, they have done a great job creating them this time. The tickets look awesome and will find their way in my Disney Paper collection some day (I’ll be on the lookout on Ebay for used tickets). My favorite one is the one with the Ghosts from Haunted Mansion. What is your favorite one?

35 years,.. and 1 day

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

CastleColin1.jpgIronically I could not go on the internet yesterday. Why is this such a big thing? Well yesterday was a very special day for us Disney fans. Walt Disney World celebrated its 35th birthday. So as I could not be online on the October 1st, I’ll celebrate today the 35th and 1 day anniversary.

Happy Birthday Walt Disney World. Wishing you many more celebrations to come.
