A Perfect Pitch
If you’re a student and could have a word with Bob Iger, what would your pitch be? For sure you’ll have to impress him, and that is exactly what senior Stacey Maya did when she could present her original business plan to him. (Senior wins pitch to Iger with affordable theater proposal)
Maya, a theatre arts management major, proposed that Disney should offer discounted tickets to its Broadway plays for underprivileged children.
“If Disney Theatrical could start a program that makes theater affordable for any underprivileged child and their parent, it could start a trend that could last forever,” said Maya in her pitch to Iger. Maya also considered the future of her plan and its effect on theater, which she calls her first love.
Maya was the one that could impress Iger and the audience the most. She, together with three other students, was picked out of 20 students that auditioned for their personal presentations. Not only did this give her 2 V.I.P passes to Walt Disney World, but she will be invited by a team of Disney that might take her project even further.
After the contest, Iger approached Maya and told her he would put her in contact with Disney Theatrical to talk seriously about her idea.

Oh cool…I love Disney too, it is awesome that the current CEO graduated from the same place I attend. Its a small world, after all.
