Disneyland Resort Paris trip report; buying the same book twice
If there is only one Disney book you could own it has to be “From Sketch to Reality” by Didier Ghez and Alain Littaye. This book is amazing, over 300 pages filled with pictures and stories about the beautiful Disneyland Park in Paris. It has all the artwork and Imagineering secrets collected in a masterpiece. There is up to today no other book created for any of the other parks as this one for the Paris Park. I was very lucky to meet Didier Ghez when the book’s first edition was produced, had a real nice chat and had my book personalized. (Thank you Didier)…
Why this introduction while this book is not new? Well, on this trip I was able to get the second edition of the book. The book is filled with the same magic, except this time it has some extra pages. As far as I know the only chance is the addition of 4 pages for the new Buzz Lightyear attraction. 4 new pages… in a 300 pages book? Am I insane buying the new edition? Some might say yes, but I say NO! This book is so amazing that a second edition is well worth having. Even if only for the 4 pages, I am happy I got the book. The book was 49,95 euros (a approximately $62), the most expensive 4 pages I ever bought, but I will enjoy them to the fullest…
I will put the two books next to each other and start reading it page by page to see and compare if there is anything else different. I’ll have fun. Didier, you made an amazing book, a book I can recommend to every Disney fan in the world. If you will only buy one Disney book, get this one! The book is available in Disneyland Resort Paris but copies appear on Ebay too.

I can certainly endorse every word of Andy’s about Didier’s book. It is a true work of art – beautifully put together and lovingly detailed. Every Disney fan, of any park, should certainly have a copy of this. I bought the special edition when it first came out about 5 years ago (I think) and still enjoy dipping into it to look at various aspects of the world’s most impressive Disney park. The photography is particularly impressive but it is such a great package I can’t believe there are even any copies left (I’m certainly hoping it will sell out and make my copy more valuable!!).
