Disneyland Resort Paris trip report: Day 3 “Showtime” (Highlights)
nother early entry today in Fantasyland but without the Peter Pan marathon (just one ride). It is just nice to leisure during the non busy first hour of the day. The rest of the day became a real show day. Although I did try and failed to put record numbers on a Buzz visit, the show took out a lot of the time of this day. Once I met up with Dirk one of the things we went to see was the new Winnie the Pooh show. I loved it. So much better then the previous show. The new location at the Fantasy Festival Stage does the show justice and the story is real fun. The show is so good (I know, I’ll never grow up) that, once we met up with Stefan and his partner Sabine, we had to go again. Tarzan was also on the program. I love this show and is, by far, so much better then the now ended Tarzan show in Animal Kingdom. This show has more acrobatics with some really cool stuff done by the “monkeys”. Visiting DLRP, this is a show that cannot be missed.
The Lion King was another show we went to see. Great show, but I could not help myself being a little disappointed by the improvisation done by the cast. I have been involved in professional theatre work for a big part of my live since the age of 8. Improvisation is something you will always see, every performer puts some personal touch in it but remembering the opening show of the Lion King I found it a little disturbing at some points.
At the evening we had our Birthday party for Dirk. We went to the New York Hotel’s Manhattan restaurant. The restaurant is one of my favorites so I can only advice a visit here. The meal was great, the Californian wine superb and the celebration was a lot of fun. My birthday gift involved Stitch, one of Dirk’s favorite characters. He sure liked the gift and proofs again that whatever age you are Disney gifts are fun to give and get. The only thing I didn’t like that evening was the ice cake. I so much like the chocolate cake more that they do in some of the other restaurants. We had a great evening, I’m sure Dirk had a great party… and I am sorry but I promised not to give away his age… (he said he would delete it if I did)
After dinner we went to the park to see Wishes in the rain. Not to many people at the castle waiting for the show, it was really wet, but no reason to cancel today. The show went on and the rain gave it that little extra (besides being cold and wet) when the green lasers seems to come to live when the rain drops go trough it.
To be continued…

so far a really nice report Andy…. I loved my dinner at the Manhattan restaurant in my 2004 visit to the resort… probably the best restaurant of the park…. and I say that after trying Walt’s, Blue Lagoon, and California Grill (that was really a dissapointment considering all the fame and price you pay). I love good food, I love wine, and I loved Manhattan Restaurant… seems like you had a great time there too.

Thanks Rafa… Like you say, Manhattan is amazing. A shame you didn’t like the California Grill as I do have some great stories from that restaurant. Keep on coming back for more of the trip in the days to come…
