Miyuki
Sometimes people ask me what there is to do in Epcot World Showcase that would keep you there the whole, or even multiple, days. The people asking are mostly those who think that the theme parks are all about rides only, but there is so much more to enjoy; like the atmosphere, the theme-ing, the shops, talking to the Cast Members from around the globe and the entertainment like acrobats from China or street performers from France.
One other great entertainment that should not be missed can be found in the Japanese Pavilion of the World Showcase; the Candy Artist “Miyuki”. Miyuki creates, using only her hands and a pair of scissors, little animals such as birds, rabbits, cats, monkey’s or even dragons out of rice dough.
Miyuki has learned this japanese art form from her grandfather. This art form started about 250 years ago; today only about 20 people have the knowledge and experience how to do this. Miyuki is one of those few, and the only female artist around the world, who masters this art.
She is another great example to take your time and leisure around the showcase, that there is more to see then rides alone. Those great little animals made by Miyuki are given to the children watching her create them. So pay her a visit, look at her creating wonderful art, and make her part of your magical Disney experience…
