The BBC … again
OK, you are now aware of the upcoming fourt-part documentary “Ain’t No Mickey Mouse Music” on BBC Radio 2 and are prepared to sit in front of the radio or computer coming Friday (this is all new for you? Then check out my blog post from yesterday) … now here is more news: BBC Radio 2 actually will enter the world of Disney music already TODAY from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm (UK-TIME!) on the program of Elaine Page with a Disney Special:
To coincide with the start of Radio 2’s new four part series ‘Ain’t No Mickey Mouse Music’ on Friday, Elaine will be delving into the Disney songbook. She’ll be playing favourites from classic films including ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Pinocchio’, as well as featuring tracks from the new Disney/Pixar movie ‘Cars’ and the company’s latest Broadway show, ‘Tarzan’.
Again the program will be available not only on the radio but also in the live stream or afterwards on Listen Again.
The latter function comes in handy for Disney fans, since it also allows to listen to a recent show, in which Elaine Page, Broadway and Westend diva in her own right, talked with Angela Lansbury. While many Disney fans only remember her as Mrs. Potts from “Beauty and the Beast” and maybe as Eglantine Price (the apprentice witch) from Walt Disney’s “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”, she also is one of the great leading ladies from the golden years of the Broadway and starred in shows such as diverse as “Mame” and “Sweeny Todd”. Access to this great interviews can be found online - but don’t wait too long, before it is gone!
