Fans First!

JD-LATimes.jpgJohnny Depp had no time for the press when he visited Disneyland for the Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead Man’s Chest premier. He had only time for his fans when he walked down the red carpet.

He talked and signed pictures for two hours, having the press wait until they where notified Johnny Depp would have no time to talk to them.

“Unlike some stars, Johnny Depp is very appreciative of and loyal to his fans and he always makes time for them at his public appearances,” says a Depp source. “They all know this and that’s why they show up in droves. He started signing autographs for fans in the front of the park around 6:45 and spent two hours doing it. He didn’t even do his first interview with ET until 8:45.”

Unfortunately, his two hours of devotion to his fans up front left scant time for the countless others lining the carpet further inside the park. Or the patiently waiting reporters further down the line who were not told until after 9 p.m. that Depp would not have time to talk. (source: stylescenes.latimes.com)

It must have been great for some of these fans to be so close to there star. Too often it is forgotten that the stars popularity comes from the fans, even if the press helps with it. No offence to the press (guys and girls of the press you’re all doing great jobs), but I find this gesture from Johnny Depp very nice. I have been lucky enough to talk several stars in my life myself and this is always been something I really loved doing. Hope to hear from more stars doing this, and not just at Disneyland

It didn’t stop there as Johnny Depp also fulfilled some dreams of fans that’ve got to meet him via the Make a Wish Foundation. He might portray a pirate, but he sure is a very nice one.
