The Year To Live Your Dream: The Info

Year To Live Your DreamAny regulars would have noted the news of the new Disneyland Resort Paris and 15th anniversary logo that was released on Monday. As this up-coming birthday is so close to my heart, I thought I’d share with you a little extra information that came to light just yesterday about what we can expect during the new dreamy celebrations. (Note that the official press-release seems to have been withdrawn without notice)

“Disney’s Once Upon A Dream Parade” WILL be debuting in Disneyland Park to begin the party, states one of the official press releases. While the information hints at the character line-up (from Mickey, Minnie and Baloo to Cinderella) we’ll have to wait until the parade’s own press release (due shortly) tells us more about the float line-up… we hope anyway!

Also hitting the parks are new character locations “created for this special year”. Presumably these will be the Mickey Caravan, The Incredibles and other locations in the new Toon Studios, but I hope they create a special royal meet and greet area on the Royal Castle Stage back in Disneyland Park.

And so we move on to the three new attractions coming soon… or should I just say just two? “The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror” does not have an official mention in the 15th anniversary material, which does prove to be confusing. If the current in-park progress is anything to go by, it sure will be ready to participate in the celebrations, so why not advertise it?

My guess would be that Disneyland Resort Paris will advertise it for later in the anniversary year, rather than having all the action promoted together. It’s a bit of a shame, but at least we know it’s coming. There’s also no word of a replacement parade in the Walt Disney Studios (which has been strongly rumoured) so maybe a similar tactic is in place here?

“Cars: Race Rally” and “Crush’s Coaster” feature heavily in the current promotion, although the names seem controversial. What happened to the Crush’s Turtle Twister we all heard about long ago? Both rides are now due to open in June 2007, so there’s plenty of time to get the rest of the land prepared before opening at a similar time too.

The general theme of the event is “The Year To Live Your Dream”, so expect plenty of magical pastel blue finishing touches and “nonstop Disney birthday treats”. So “go ahead: live a little, dream a lot” as from April 2007-March 2008, Disneyland Resort Paris is “celebrating the 15th birthday with the biggest party ever and you’re invited.”
