Volvo - Pirates - Clues
Not so long ago I added some info on the Volvo Pirates Treasure hunt. It didn’t take long before we had a Volvo Dealer offering to send some maps out. (I warned them they’ll be getting more requests). The Volvo Dealer was so nice to also send us a picture of the map for those who wanted to have a look at it, and now we have visitors giving away some of the clues in the original first blog entry.
How much do you know about the ladders, barrels, St Helena, codes, coordinates and the rest pirate Volvo hunt game? Close to the hidden location already? The hunt is on and it looks like there are many pirates out there that want to find that treasure!

What you get from the dealer is a “chart”, not a “map”. The number you are probably referring to is called the “pirate code”. That is the number you use to “officially” JOIN the HUNT. It is located on the back side of the chart.

i think it has to do with east meets west close to 0 degrees longitude #18 — volvos are made in sweden but cant find the right combo i couldnt find the numbers on the tatooed guy either but these here worked

jay, numbers on the white tiles need to be translated. North has 3 digits, east has 4, they like to change the rules. it’s there game you know. if you get it, you get to decode food next. who thinks this stuff up ?? mike

gotta follow the correct path and find the indentifing dots, here’s the maze answer #9, #1, (script symbol) E, letter V, #9, (script symbol) E, [(script symbol) ^, (upside down V)] notice brackets - now convert those from arabic numbers to english numbers and your good to go. like to send a picture but don’t think I can do it here. hope this helps

the guy in the boat speakes twice, they are numbers. set 1 has 7 words (numbers), the second set has 10 words (numbers). the first set is the co-ordinates, (I hope) and the second set is him counting from 1-10. decoding now (I hope I can understand him) will post tommorrow if I get it right

When listening to the man in the boat, the first set of numbers is spoken before he counts fron one to ten. Try writing the one thru ten portion phonetically then listen again to the first set of numbers.

I had exactly the same problem as you, and I’ve heard other people with this problem too. I just had to keep entering the code until one day it FINALLY went through! Don’t give up, it will work eventually.

Andy, ALL the codes are above if you look through the string. here’s the bad news only 1 winner from the US []The Semi-Finals will start at {date_time}, at World’s End. Numbers 61, 28, 37, and 54 are the positions of the first set of numbers:
number 6 is positioned on the 6th & 1st places of the 8 numbers of the coordinates.

here’s how I got them, first set was easy, get rid of 160 from the date, and dark numbers are 6439, second set, had two dark numbers which include 1, 2, 3 & 4. those show the second set, a little reordering got me 9634. I’m sure there are other ways

I have done all of the available puzzles without a code, or having to enter my name. How is this possible and am I eligible?

You need a map - you can email Volvo for one but you won’t get it in time for the end of the race. Try this number - 28646500 - it will register you as a canadian player but at least you can get in and play the rest of the game

Liz - From what I understand you are still eligible. Registering the code on a chart will get you email clues from Volvo just before the next puzzle opens, but I’ve found these to be few and far between. You NEED the chart to solve some of the puzzles - without it there is no way you can solve some of the puzzles unless you get the solution from a blog. To be one of the final 21 players, you need to be the first person from your country to solve the final “public” puzzle - if you do that you will be invited to compete against the finalists from each of the other countries for the final puzzle and the treasure - Good Luck!!!

Can you email me a code and mail me the chart? I would love to still be in this. But I am more than an hour from any Volvo dealer, and being without car right now, that is nearly impossible to get to.

for snow steps, Go up 5 steps and you will see a rock. Since we went up 5, we have our first number to the co-ordinate 5, now east, etc. look for the rock piles, zig zag, not circles. Alicia, dragon scales, white spots under the domino mark the clues, then convert the numbers from arabic, thia, sandscript, etc, and get 661, 10525 i believe

I found the rock in five steps then went on to the eight step and headed east. I found the rocks in eight steps and now stuck. I tried every direction from that pile of rocks. Any help????

I’ve also noticed if you move left or right while on the screen with the water and fog it will change your direction in which you were walking once you click on the screen.

I cannot get my computer to go to Clue #5????? Have to keep starting at #1 when I put #4 in and it accepts the answer, a black screen with the music in the background is there, NOTHING comes up??? I joined, I got the E Mail. HAS ANYONE ELSE run into this problem? Cannot go forward. Only keep putting in the FIRST 4 clues., it’s after 4:50 am. and I am getting tired of this HELP PLease if you know what is wrong, or can tell me how to proceed. Foot steps…..Moving in the direction of the foot go 5 steps north you’ll see a rock. Move 3 more steps north and head east. In 9 steps you will find 3 rocks. From there take 4 steps north then take 9 steps east to reach 5 rocks. Now take steps north then 4 steps east to reach a pile of 8 rocks. From here I have enough numbers to come up with the coordinates but can’t seem to get it. Can anyone help in any other way????

try this, when the fog screen comes in, don’t move, just click the screen. if you are positioned correctly it is 5 steps up, 3 up, 9 left, 4 up, 9 left, 6 up, 4 left, 5 left. 5346 9945 . otherwise walk in expanding squares, like I did, until you get to the rocks and back track.

Click the light, the screen will change and as you move the cursor, steps will appear in the snow. As you move it any direction more footprints appear..The first step has a blood stain and I am still stepping…
HELP…. see what you can do. Should I find out any more I will post.

A Couple of thoughts. Timing of the lightning strikes, look at the opposite falls and look for the thin black lines and see if we can determine a pattern between the lines. I am still looking. Be careful, you only get one submission.
