Choices!
Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort? The question has been on my mind since a couple of weeks while starting my (early – very early) planning on a next Disney Park visit. But the decision had been made. Next visit; Walt Disney World (again).
Why was this such a big topic in my head? Well I wanted to see the park that started it all in Anaheim and was thinking this would be the one to go to on my next trip. I still need to see this park and I have been to Disney World a couple of times now. It would have been the perfect reason to make my way to California on my next Disney trip.
But then it happened; I started thinking about this, looking around the many forums and news sites on the internet and by doing so I found something that made up my mind. Now; the 50th celebration will be over soon and a new celebration will start. EPCOT! On October 1st 2007 EPCOT will turn 25 years young, so celebrations will be on for this park. Although no way as big as the Disneyland’s big 5-O “party” some changes might take place.
One of them would be a new Nighttime show, or in other words a new Illuminations show. If I would go to Disneyland in Anaheim I would not be able to get to the WDW parks before October 2007 for sure. In that case, if the rumors of a new Illuminations show are correct, I would miss out to see my all time favorite Disney show that I love the most. I know and understand that the new show (again, if rumor is correct) might be fantastic too, but I love the current Illuminations show to much and could not bare it to never see it again. So my next Disney trip in the US will be WDW (again).
The Illuminations rumor might be wrong after all. (Don’t always believe everything written on the internet) But imagine if this would be the case…
Of course I also have to visit Colin while he works at EPCOT.
Anaheim will have to wait another extra year before I will visit. But with my air miles full after a next paid trip I already know where I’ll be flying to next.
With that choice made I can now start to find a date for this trip! Planning my WDW trip; phase two!

Well, i’m glad you’ll be visiting me
But you shouldn’t let Internet rumours stop you from Visiting Walts Original Magic Kingdom park, otherwise you’ll always have a reason not to go!
I love Disneyland to pieces, maybe I will prefer WDW, who knows? But nothing with ever be able to replace the fact that Disneyland was the first Disney Park to ever open, and the only one Walt saw through to completion. Every Disney fan should make it there once… It’s like a pilgrimage
