Star Wars Weekends starts today
Today Star Wars weekend are kicking in at the Disney-MGM studios in Walt Disney World. I have never been to one of these and do not think I’ll ever plan my holiday around them. I do enjoy the movies, but I am not that big of a fan.
Just to be up to date on what is going on in the park I did check out the guest list. I do not know about you but I would find it a little disappointing. Not so much for who is coming, but that there are only 2 Star Wars celebrities every weekend. Being sold as Star Wars Weekends I would have expected a lot more celebrities on the list. I have been to many conventions (I used to own a comic book store), including Star Wars conventions and the lists where a lot longer. Maybe I was spoiled so I am interested in what other people have to say about these weekends in WDW.
The celebrities you can expect are Peter Mayhew (“Chewbacca”) and Rick McCallum (Producer of Prequel Films) for Weekend 1 (May 19, 20, 21), Jake Lloyd (“Anakin Skywalker”) and Matt Wood (Supervising Sound Editor for the Prequel/Voice of “General Grievous”) for Weekend 2 (May 26, 27, 28), Jay LaGa’aia (“Captain Typho”) and Orli Shoshan (“Shaak Ti” – Episodes II and III) for Weekend 3 (June 2, 3, 4) and the laast weekend (June 9, 10, 11) WDW welcomes Jeremy Bulloch (“Boba Fett”) and Temuera Morrison (“Jango Fett”).
I remember Peter and Jeremy (to name two) being very nice people to their fans, so I am sure the fans that get to talk to them will have fun. Also the Q&A with the celebrities will be great for the Star Wars fans.
Other things to do during the weekend do look like fun. The Star Wars edition of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and the Jedi Training Academy for sure will be very popular. Who wouldn’t want to train to become a Jedi and stand in front of Darth Vader and Darth Maul? My problem, I would not fight them but join them (I guess the Dark side does it for me
)
Even more fun will be the interaction with the Star Wars Characters running around the park. I do love to see pictures of those, so if you go to the Star Wars weekend, have fun and let us know where you’re pictures are shown.
