Narnia going to the parks

Friday, April 7th, 2006

WhiteWitch.jpg“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” was a big success and like most big successes in cinema a 2nd part is not far away. But that might not be all, Robert Iger, president and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Co, says to the press that the franchise might be next in line to get a place in the Disney Theme Park(s)

“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” could be the next successful film product to translate into a theme park product. The second “Narnia” film, based on a series of books by C.S. Lewis, is in pre-production.

Ultimate Disney Theme Park Dream!

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

Castle1.jpgA Disney fan will never forget that very first time entering the gates of one of the Disney Theme Parks in the world. You walk thru, you fall in love… Before you know it you’re hooked for live, go for as many visits as you can in your local Disney Park, start dreaming about the other parks and before you know it you’re sharing your dreams on forums (DLP.info, Disboards and others), a website or a blog.

My biggest dream however, and I am sure I am not alone, would be a Disney World trip. No, I am not talking about visiting Walt Disney World in Orlando (Well, yes I do, but not only WDW), but visiting all resort that are found over the whole world. When this dream “kicked” in I didn’t have to count Hong Kong to one of the locations, but as time goes by, parks start to pop up on more places around the world. OK, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but Hong Kong will not be the last on and I have no idea if I could ever fulfill this dream, but by the time I could more parks might have emerged.

Disney Tour guiding – ala fan style

BackgroundCastle800_01.jpgYou have all done it at least once I’m sure; you have brought friends, family or maybe loved ones in a Disney themepark and have given them a tour!
It’s one of those things all Disney dweebs, like myself, simply love to do, programming every detail of your trip, from the hotle to the restaurants, just to get your friends (or sometime we should say “guine pig “;-) ) hooked onto the Disney magic. (more…)

Disney History: Euro Disney Castle Convention Piece

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

JohnHineEuroDisneyCastle.jpgDisney collectables! What to choose? With so many items on the market you might loose side very quickly. Collecting myself (way to much) choices have to be made too. But just like you can never have enough pictures of the Castle, I for sure can never have enough Castle collectables. Most DLRP visitors know the snow globes and money banks where the castle is used for as a model but over in the US there was a very special statue released during one of the many Disneyana conventions.

Think before you buy!

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

Typhoon LagoonSince the advent of the 14 and 21-Day Ultimate tickets for Disney in the UK, we are seeing an awful lot of what we consider ‘brainless’ ticket buying for WDW. The old 10-Day World ticket used to be a pretty good deal for UK visitors, especially those who went for up to three weeks at a time. But now it seems many people see the inherent value of the 14 and 21-dayers as simply the answer to ALL their ticket needs. (more…)

Mickey’s long lost twin brother

Saturday, April 1st, 2006

Double Mickey Can’t believe your eyes? Think you’re seeing double? Well have a good look! This is Mickey Mouse, greeting children at his trailer location at the Walt Disney Studios… with his twin brother. Camera’s where flashing, children where pointing there fingers, even parents where getting confused when they witnessed this strange spectacle. The one person that did not seem to notice is the girl next to one of the Mickey’s (unknown to us if she is holding the original Mickey or the twin brother). She greeted one of the Mickey’s and prepared to get her picture taken.

We don’t know how long both Mickey’s where available for pictures or if they will return together again in the future. However it is obvious that the appearance of the twin was not planned (at least not without a press conference). I wonder if Disneyland Resort Paris will have an explanation for this, or could it be that the spooky vibes coming from the new Tower of Terror has something to do with it?
