If the Yeti doesn’t move

FirstDrop.jpgToday I got my issue of First Drop (73) in the postbox. This is a great rollercoaster enthusiasts fan based magazine.

Every month (although this one was a little late) you get, page after page, information on rollercoaster’s.

This time Walt Disney World fans also get some sweet Expedition Everest picture together with a very interesting write up.

One of the interesting things was the information on “plan B” in case the Yeti doesn’t want to play anymore. While riders of the attraction get to see a full functional Yeti in a lit up tunnel it can happen the Yeti stops working. Not to have to close the ride completely they have a plan B:

When the Yeti experience technical difficulties plan B is put into action, where the Yeti is left stationary in a threatening stance over the track, and all normal theatrical is turned of. As the train gets virtually underneath the monster in the dark, strobe lights flash and fans blow his hair giving the impression of movement

For the rest of the write up check out the great magazine, First Drop. You have to become a member of the European Coaster Club to get the magazine but in my opinion this is the best Coaster magazine out there. They send it world wide. Now if you’ll excuse me I am going to read about all those other coasters out there.
