Ultimate Disney Theme Park Dream!

Castle1.jpgA Disney fan will never forget that very first time entering the gates of one of the Disney Theme Parks in the world. You walk thru, you fall in love… Before you know it you’re hooked for live, go for as many visits as you can in your local Disney Park, start dreaming about the other parks and before you know it you’re sharing your dreams on forums (DLP.info, Disboards and others), a website or a blog.

My biggest dream however, and I am sure I am not alone, would be a Disney World trip. No, I am not talking about visiting Walt Disney World in Orlando (Well, yes I do, but not only WDW), but visiting all resort that are found over the whole world. When this dream “kicked” in I didn’t have to count Hong Kong to one of the locations, but as time goes by, parks start to pop up on more places around the world. OK, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but Hong Kong will not be the last on and I have no idea if I could ever fulfill this dream, but by the time I could more parks might have emerged.

We already had people staying at Walt Disney World for a year (or at least they tried), for sure we have people who already visited all resorts in the world, but so far I didn’t find any information or reports of people making a world trip, stopping (or should I say hopping) at every park in the world. Does it sound insane? Maybe, and I am sure many would say yes, especially the non Disney addicts.

Dreaming “Disney” every day, this is just one of the dreams that keeps popping up in my head. I even have it planned out where I would start and how it would end. Including all stops in between, the time needed to see the parks (not as a regular visitor but as the Disney fan I am and not to miss all the special Magic in the park)

CastleDLRP1.jpgMy dream trip starts at Disneyland Resort Paris. A 3 day trip to start the magic before I would catch a continental airlines plane (I am on the continental frequent flyers list, so there would be no other option) and fly to Orlando. Stay at the Walt Disney World resort for a minimum of 10 days, although in my dream it’s always 14 days. There is so much to see at Disney World and I am sure with 14 days I would still miss out on some of the magic. (my last trip was 15 days at WDW and I could have stayed even longer)

When doing this trip a cruise on one of the Disney ships has to be included before returning to Orlando and catch a plane to California. I guess no less then 7 days is needed to be able to see everything at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

Next stop would be Tokyo Disneyland Resort. Yet another 7 days would be perfect to see everything in the two parks. After that a quick hop over to Hong Kong. At this time, with the one park only and the fact that it is the smallest one I would not go into overkill and a 3 day visit to Hong Kong Disneyland would make me happy.

Of course I would have to return to Paris and have another 3 days in Disneyland Resort Paris. I would need the chill a little after traveling around the world and what better place then “my” home Disney park…

MickeyHallo.jpgIt is always perfect, but dreams always are. I was just wondering if it could be done. I guess yes but I would need time and, well…, the resources (as in $$$). Counting up the days, including traveling, I would at least need 6 weeks to do this trip. When it comes to the price… I am too scared to find out as this would not come cheap!

At the moment it is still a dream, one I wanted to share with you, cause if there are people out there who understand me it is all the Disney fans out there… One question remains; Am I insane, alone, or are there more people out there with the same dream?

    No, not insane,
    No, not the only one!

I have had several versions and revisions of a similar trip, but “the other way around”.

Flying from Amsterdam (I’m Dutch) to Hong Kong, enjoying 3 days and 3 nights in the Hong Kong DL Hotel. It would be a great start with a small MK park and a small resort to discover.

Flying to Tokyo, stay at Hotel MiraCosta for 7 days and 6 nights. Enjoying the parks and shopping mall. Leavind late on the day and arriving early the same day (passing the day’s border) in LA.

Anaheim would be a 7 days visit and 6 nights at the Grand Califoria Hotel (Themepark view naturally). We would certainly do the “welcome to Disneyland tour” and the “Walk in Walt’s Footsteps”. Furthermore since my second (and still last) visit there I’ve fallen in love with the Hungry Bear Restaurant, so a meal there would be great.

Then hopping to Orlando, staying there for 14 days/15 nights. WDW is so big and there are so many hotels that it would be a shame to stay 15 nights at the same place. Therefor I would like to stay 4 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, 5 nights an the Boardwalk inn and concluding with a 6 nights stay at the Polynesian Resort. Combining the locations and a great variety in theming. On our first and only visit there we spent our honeymoon in the Grand Floridian and Coronado Springs. We would certainly attend some behind the scenes tours like the Magic behind our Steamtrains and the Dolphins in Depth.

Finally we would fly to Paris (which cannot be done non-stop!!) and ending with a 3 night stay in the Sleaping Beauty Suite in our own DL Hotel before taking Thalys back home. We’ve never stayed in the DL hotel yet.

My wife and I are not into cruises, therefor I wouldn’t include a cruise in our trip. Nevertheless it would take 5 entire weeks to do this and an intergalactic amount of money. But that doesn’t stop me from thinking of more things to do and figuring out more nice details to add to the trip and still checking flights and hotel availability. If we would ever do it I want it to be the ultimate D-experience, therefor staying on site is very important to me.

Sometimes I share these ideas with my wife and she gives me the impression that i AM insane, but I refuse to believe that :-)

    Keep up the dreaming!

    Nope, not insaine at all.
In fact I would add stops in London and NYC to catch a couple of Disney Musicals and check out the NY World of Disney Store.
And just like Marnix I get the “How much Disney can you do in one trip?!?” looks from my girlfriend!

No your not insane its good to have dreams, I agree with jrriddle though the Ny world of disney store is definately worth a visit its pretty cool like a mini taster of one of the Disney Parks. The musicals are also must. Though I’m never quite sure about the Far East theme parks, can’t imagine they have the same magic.

  4. jrriddle CANADA Says:

I can not speak about HKDL (have not been there) but the TDLR is amazing!
TDL is not as beautiful as DLP, but TDS is very, very close!
The OLC really “get” the Disney experience.

You are not crazy about dreaming. If you don’t dream then what to you have to look foward too. Although your dream is big you may be able to accomplish parts of it and not the whole thing. Good luck with coming up with the funds to do that. I too love Disney and Orlando. I’ve been to Disney World so many times I’ve lost count I know every time I go I feel like I’ve stepped into the gate for the first time ever. I never get tried of going. Good luck and don’t stop dreaming. Dreams do come true. One of mine did. I”ve wanted a Corvette for 13 years and last year I got one. That had been my dream car forever.

Good to know I am not alone and others have the same idea on a trip like this…

Maybe I should have a look how much this would cost. If only for the fun of it…
