Think before you buy!

Typhoon LagoonSince the advent of the 14 and 21-Day Ultimate tickets for Disney in the UK, we are seeing an awful lot of what we consider ‘brainless’ ticket buying for WDW. The old 10-Day World ticket used to be a pretty good deal for UK visitors, especially those who went for up to three weeks at a time. But now it seems many people see the inherent value of the 14 and 21-dayers as simply the answer to ALL their ticket needs.

Hey, people, stop and think! Yes, the 14-Day Ultimate IS very good value - if you want to do ONLY Disney for two weeks. But, when people usually want 2-3 days at Universal, plus SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, the Kennedy Space Center, Discovery Cove and more (like 5 days shopping in a two-week holiday!! Ask us sometime about the amount of shopping time many people seem to need in Orlando - it is truly amazing!), why would you want to buy the 14-day Ultimate?

Given that the average first-timer always wants to try to ‘do it all’ in Orlando, the Ultimate tickets are simply not the answer. In fact, we would say that the 5-Day Premium ticket (which includes 3 ‘plus’ features, effectively giving you eight days of park fun) is plenty of ticket for the majority of people. Eight days of Disney, 4 of Universal/SeaWorld, one for the KSC (which we rate very highly) and at least one day to rest/shop easily fills a two-week holiday - and saves a significant amount of money on the 14-day ticket.

Savvy Disney-goers probably don’t need any advice on the subject of ticket-buying, but we would certainly advise anyone else to think very carefully about what they need before they buy. It is SO easy to see the 14-day Ultimate as a ‘catch-all’ ticket, but it simply isn’t necessary.
