Today I found some amazing pictures of my favorite show in EPCOT; Illuminations. I have been looking for pictures like this on the web on a daily basis but never could I find any great pictures, until I just found these today. Not only are these pictures amazing, they’re also taken from my favorite viewing spot. This spot is right between the two shops when you enter the world showcase coming from Future World.

Well, all of us have those ”5 minutes” during our standard business days. I personally like, as some of you might know, during those moments to try and take a few minutes (literally less then 5) to myself and just “do something Disney”.
This might be calling up Disneyland Paris and renewing my annual pass (as one of my last blogs), surfing the web, buying stuff online or….changing my ring tone!

The new Disney animation “The Wild” will hit the theaters soon. Here are some clips that can be found on Apple.com; The High Definition trailer, the regular trailer, but also an exclusive clip. The movie looks very promising and funny. The koala bear made me laugh! Have a look at the exclusive trailer to see why.
Release date for the US is 14 April

This is your chance to own a piece of land just at the borders of Walt Disney World in Orlando. Orlando Sentinel brings you the story and gives you an idea on how much dollars you will have to bring to be able to own a little piece of your own magic
Walt Disney World is selling off chunks of excess land on the fringes of its empire, allowing developers to pursue their own real-estate magic.
30 acres is for sale on U.S. Highway 192. And more may be put on the market as soon as the company re-evaluates its vast land holdings in Central Florida, particularly parcels on the far edges.
The last time Disney sold some ground was in 2000. The offered 40 acres of land sold for $15.8 million.

On my last trip I finally could do all 4 ride experiences on the Tower of Terror in the MGM Studios in Walt Disney World. When the rumors on Screamscape are correct I’ll be have to head back to the park for the rumored Tower of Terror 5. This time to celebrate the 13 years of the Tower and they might do this with a possible 13 different random drop sequences. The anniversary will be in 2007. (with a bit of luck I’ll be there that year)
One possible idea is to push the number 13 in all the marketing campaigns (13 Times The Terror / 13 Years of Terror) and attempt to bring up the number random drop sequences up to 13.

This is my favorite scene in the Toy Story 2 movie, even if I am not a Star Wars fan, honoring The Empire Strikes Back like this made me laugh out loud the very first time I saw it on the big screen and the many times I’ve seen it on DVD. With the anticipating building up for the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast ride opening I wanted to share this Crossover Movie Moment of Toy Story II and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Toy Story II script
Zurg: “Surrender, Buzz Lightyear. I have won.”
Buzz: “I’ll never give in. You killed my father!”
Zurg: “No, Buzz. I am your father.”
Buzz: “No!”
Star Wars; the Empire Strikes Back script
Vader; “If you only knew the power of the dark side. Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.”
Luke; “He told me enough! It was you who killed him.”
Vader; “No. I am your father.”
Luke; “No. No. That’s not true! That’s impossible!”
Vader; “Search your feelings. You know it to be true.”
Luke; “No! No! No!”
You can go to the IMDB to find some more fun quotes of Toy Story II. And you can see some more pictures and a review of the Preview event that took place on the weekend of 25/26 May here and what other fans thought about the ride on the DLP.Info Forum can be found here.

What place do you have to visit at WDW that is unavoidable when walking in the park the whole day? It is the Bathroom of course. Most people don’t want to talk about it, while others dedicate a special place on the web to it. Go have a look at Cassworld you will find most of the bathrooms pictures from the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom. Weird? Maybe, but you’ll witness some beautiful decorations that might surprise you, especially when visiting the bathrooms in Animal Kingdom.
On the Disboard you’ll even find a topic about the Bathroom site. After the Bathroom web page has only been up for two days, the topic about it is 4 pages long already…

OK, the news is finally official - the Disney Magic will sail eight 10 and 11-night cruises from Barcelona, starting May 26, with two 14-night transatlantic sailings at either end.

The cruises visit Palermo, Naples, Olbia, Civitavecchia (for Roma), La Spezia (for Pisa and Florence), Marseille and Villefranche. The 10-night cruise has 2 days at sea (one at the start and one at the end), while the 11-nighter has 3 sea days (which is good to be able to enjoy the huge range of onboard facilities).

Collecting Disney goodies can be a lot of fun. You can collect pins, posters, theme park items, Mickey Mouse collectables, snow globes… the list is endless. Another collectables on this list are shares. Not so much for what they are worth, but for what they look like.

One of those collectable shares are the once from PIXAR. When collecting share certificate the current price is not important. It is important what to find on them, and with characters portrait on the PIXAR shares it is very appealing for the collectors.

We have long noted the increase in parking traffic at the Downtown Disney location at WDW - without seeing huge increases in the actual numbers of people shopping there. Most recently, we dropped in to DD late one morning for (we thought) a quick shopping trip at The Marketplace side. Well, 15 minutes later, we were still looking for somewhere to park and were imagining huge crowds when we finally got into the shopping district.

Wait a minute. Did I not say, one day ago, that the Disney’s Magical Express will end in December (the project) and now I’ll say it will not end. Maybe I should have waited a day before writing something about the Service. Only one day later the Orlando Sentinel brings a new story about the express. It will run at least up to 2011, but with some changes. The cost for Disney will increase up to $0,75 per person with an possible increase up to $1,50 later in the project. The Express will be relocated to terminal B. The Disney greeters will be back on the second level to welcome the travelers, but will have to leave their Mickey gloves behind…You can read the full report here
You can also find an article on The Disney Blog where they talk about the advantages for Disney (people don’t rent cars, use the bus, and stay on Disney property during their vacations), the advantage for the guest (I told you in my previous entry how the magic started at the DME desk), but also about the other services that are going to have to adapt to the continued service.

I finally was able to see Chicken Little yesterday night!
Besides being a great test for any home theatre system (the DVD quality is tops) I really enjoyed the story and animation!
Sure, it might not be a “Lion King” or “Beauty and the Beast” type movie! It might not have that quaint charm and art of Bambi or creativeness or Fantasia, but all in all I really found it a “step in the right direction”.
The characters are really quality animated, in most moments I could really (more…)

It is nice when the magic can start after you land in Orlando, you walk to the Disney’s Magical Express welcome desk and you get greeted by cast members wishing you the magical stay you’ve been dreaming of. Some wearing the Mickey gloves, giving you the information and help expecting when going on a Disney vacation. The bus awaiting your arrival to take you to the resort of your choice, and once on the bus the magic starts for real with a nice welcome video about the Walt Disney World Resort. What more can you ask for. I admit, this made my holiday start once I was at the Disney’s Magical Express desk as normally my holiday starts when I am at the hotel. (The travel itself I never consider part of a holiday, it is something that is a necessity to get to your destination, but that is a personal thing)

If you go over to the Hollywoodreporter.com you can find an article about the next PIXAR animation ‘Ratatouille’ that was presented as the new project during the Walt Disney Company Annual Shareholders Meeting. Brad Bird will direct the new computer animated movie about a “skinny rodent who fancies himself a gourmand and lives in a Parisian restaurant”. The movie is developed by the Oscar winning director Jan Pinkaya. There is also some information on the sequel of the ‘Incredibles’ and ‘Rapunzel’
Bird was said to be developing a sequel to his 2004 Oscar-winning film “The Incredibles.” Execs also confirmed at the meeting that Glen Keane’s directorial debut, “Rapunzel,” remains in the early stages of production utilizing a combination of 2-D and 3-D processes.
‘Ratatouille’ sounds like a fun item while I am very exited about the sequel of the ‘Incredibles’ movie as it is one of my favorites.

Well, this is going to be a short blog entry from me, mainly due to the fact that the subject speaks for itself. A friend of mine sent me a link today on MSN Messenger to a message board, I opened it up, and wow, it was a concept for a new attraction. Now in my opinion, we need something like this in Paris, something unique unseen in any other Disney theme park in the world, people would come in droves for an attraction like this (in my opinion!). Now before I drive you nuts talking about it, here is the link:

Friday 10 March the general Disney shareholders’ meeting was held in Anaheim, only a couple of blocks away from Disneyland. Marketwatch.com wrote an article about the meeting.
For this year at least, Disney’s congregation was the happiest annual meeting on earth, in contrast to gatherings from the last few years when executive strife abounded. Amid Disney cast members dressed as many of the company’s cartoon characters, shareholders seemed pleased, particularly when Iger said he saw double-digit earnings growth for the company at least through 2008
You can read the full report here where Robert Igor speaks of the succes of Pixar, again not giving any credit to Disney’s own productions.

So it finally happened; i passed on the other side of the (digital) fence and got myself an imac!
It happened last Tuesday around midnight; it was a dark and cold night in Milan, one of those evenings with not much to see on TV and in which you cannot really decide which Disney movie to fire up on your home theatre system….so I found myself surfing the web on my Hewlet Packard PC!
I was happily reading the latest Disney news etc when (more…)
