Mickey’s Colourful Future In WDS

PhilharmagicWooah, first blog post. Kinda scary! Well what’s really on my mind right now DLRP future… like everyone else! Buzz is just around the corner, the Toons are heading this way and The Tower Of Terror should be dropping in anytime soon - sooner rather than later I hope :-)

Then there’s the anticipated new parades, possible firework display for 2007 and the first European Disney Cruise Line rumour, but that’s all old news now! So, what’s next? If DLP.info’s reports are anything to go by, WDS could well be getting an addition in the form of Mickey’s Philharmagic. That all sounds great when you first hear it, but is removing a current, successful and popular attraction wise, just to replace it with another clone? I understand the news is far from confirmed, but removing Animagique or Cinemagique to make way for an attraction that other parks already have seems a little pointless. At least it seems DLRP know what their priorities are, since DLP is already a complete park experience.

I must sound so ungrateful at the proposal to modernise and improve the park, but I doubt it would do either. If anything, it would give guests another reason to go to WDW instead as there’s yet another attraction that can be found in both resorts. I agree that WDS needs more investment and more attractions, but replacing current ones really should not be the price we have to pay. Building another soundstage would hardly break the bank if they did want the clone to come to Paris anyway.

If I’m against that idea, then what would I spend the money on instead? To be honest, I really don’t know as anything new would either have to be small enough to fit between the TV Production Tour and Cinemagique, or Backlot-style so it could fit in the remaining space at the back of the park. What really is planned in that space behind the Studio Tram Tour anyway? It’s big enough for many lands (or lots), but that would make the park really long and thin. I suppose there’s a first time for everything and we have had some bizarre surprises recently!

The best thing they could do with the Studios park is to pull it down and put any future resources into the main park.

What missing in the Studios park is the fantasy element, so it will NEVER be a success.
