Disney Holidays without Disney Locations?!
… that seems to be the message which the new Adventures by Disney travel offer from the Walt Disney Company is advertising. Under this new brand TWDC offers guests from the US and Canada family holidays to selected locations around the world which are supposed to offer the high Disney quality standards on “regular” vacations. The holiday packages include on-site guides who whisk the guests through elaborate itineraries presenting the traditional tourist standards.
One of the offers in the first full season open to the public (after some tests last year) is the “Land of Eternal Knights” 8-days, 7-nights visit to London and Paris. Which includes as one of its highlights a visit to the Disney stage musical “Mary Poppins” in London’s West End on the second night of the trip.
But what is the highlight for Disney fans in the Paris part of the vacation? Wanna bet?
DLRP? Remember the title of this story! TWDC has decided to skip Disneyland Resort Paris. I guess someone booking a Disney holiday wouldn’t be interested in something like Disneyland Paris. Plus: it is a Disney resort so most probably it is doing brisk business already anyway…
All one can say about something like this is AAAARGHHHH - especially since Disney once, a long time ago, used to be known for its great synergy effects.
But at least they advertise the option to prolong the top of the holiday with a visit to DLRP prior to returning, don’t they? Well, at least on the website they are not really pushing this option. Instead it is hidden in the FAQs! There it reads:
Can I extend my vacation beyond the Adventures by Disney itinerary?
Yes, you may stay in Europe before or after our itinerary, and even make arrangements to visit Disneyland Paris [...]
So don’t be surprised if you soon hear families talking about the great time they had on their Disney trip to Paris without ever meeting Mickey, seeing the stunning Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and enjoying the most elaborate Magic Kingdom park out there…
