The Yeti – Everest (Clear Animatronics Picture)

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

It was not going to be long before we would see clear pictures of the Yeti from inside the Expedition Everest Mountain. While some reports floating around on the web that you pas the Yeti so fast you can hardly see him, there are people out there that don’t need more than that second to get the correct picture.

To see the picture just follow this link

For some reason I didn’t expect it to be such a “dark” monster. The swinging arm looks very big (might be the camera angle). It also has a nasty set of fangs. The scariest are the massive claws on its paws, they really look like they could take a rollercoaster apart. Seeing this animatronics in action must be a great experience for the visitors of the mountain. Hope I don’t have to wait to long to see it for myself

….some loose words from a tierd non Disney last day in Hong Kong… Today my real for life business didn’t even give me time to step in Hong Kong Disneyland!

IMG_2670.JPGMy original plan was to arrive from Sydney on the Sunday morning (5 am) stay until the Monday evening and transfer to a business hotel right in the center of Hong Kong. I fell in love with Hong Kong Disneyland as soon as my eyes– tierd from the Sydney Hong Kong 9 hour night flight- opened on the taxi which at 0530 am brought me from the Airport to the Disneyland Hotel!
So I decided, after stepping into Hong Kong City and seeing how desperately chaotic the place is, to not change hotel and stay right in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel…..and my nervs, heart and soul are so happy for that decision that they sometimes tell my brain that they will buy me something before I leave ;-)

Biting the Lion’s Profits

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

The family of South African Solomon Linda can now enjoy a share of the profits generated by Disney’s mega-hit “The Lion King”.

Why? Solomon Linda, who died in 1963, wrote the original Zulu tune ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ in 1939 which was used in the original Disney animated feature and follow up productions as well as CD-releases. While she originally sold off the rights in the song her family now argued that the rights should have reverted to them, entitling them to a backpayment and future royalties since TWDC did not sign a proper license agreement with them.

EPCOT at Walt Disney WorldThat would be me!

Is it not every Disney fans dream job? Perhaps it’s just me, but I want to be able to give back some of that Magic that I have so gratefully received from Disney Cast Members around the world. Ok for some it may ruin that magic and they would never want to do it, I can understand and respect that, but for me? Well I think it will enhance my appreciation and understanding of what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ to make that little bit of Disney Magic! I also love working in a Customer Service environment, and who does customer service better than the Big D?
